Welcome to Lessons With Ben. This is an innovative music education program. Ben Golder-Novick has over twenty years of experience as both a music educator as well as a professional musician. Lessons With Ben is primarily a private lesson program. Small group classes are also available upon request. Lessons With Ben offers lessons to all ages and all skill levels. Instruments offered include the following:
Saxophone (alto, tenor, soprano, baritone)
Clarinet
Flute
Trumpet
Piano
Percussion (beginner level only) Topics addressed during lessons include development of sound and technique, ear training, music literacy, repertoire building, improvisation, composition, music theory, audition preparation, recording, and music content creation.
All students will receive an individualized Practice Guide at every lesson. This practice guide is in complete accomodation with individual student needs. For in-person lessons, students will receive a folder with a packet of sheet music and a journal for lesson notes. For online students- a follow-up instructional PDF will be sent after each lesson.
Ben is a passionate, enthusiastic educator. He uses clever humor to connect with all of his students. Many of Ben's students have gone on to study at music schools. Some have even become professional musicians!
